Celebrate “Walktober” 2014

SILO-PEDFall is a beautiful time in the Sacramento area, with a breeze in the air, pumpkins in the fields and leaves crunching under our feet. Now that cooler weather is here, it is time to get out and walk.  On Wednesday, October 1st, Safe Kids Worldwide will launch “Walktober” with new primary research and a national pedestrian safety campaign. Safe Kids will share findings from the Teens on the Move research report that shows us trends in teen walking habits. International Walk to School Day will take place on Wednesday, October 8.  Visit www.walkbiketoschool.org for tips on how to host your first Walk to School event.  We will round out Walktober with Halloween pedestrian safety reminders. Visit http://www.safekids.org/halloween for Halloween safety tips to share at your fall festivals and harvest events or share this video on social media.

I’ll see you out on the walking path!

Have a safe fall season,
